Opposition MPs Justyne Caruana and Carmelo Abela yesterday called for the resignation of the chairman and the Maltasong board after last Saturday’s Eurovision result.
The Labour MPs said that the resignation should be immediate due to the dismal placing despite the thousands of liri put into the production and promotion of Malta’s entry.
They appealed to the government to be more selective in their appointments of people on government boards.
They also said that despite the result, the MLP wanted to wish Fabrizio Faniello a prosperous career and told him that he should not give up because of such setbacks, but rather, he should plough on.
