Access Community Resource Centre is a success story which should be copied all over Malta, said Minister for Social Solidarity and Family Dolores Cristina yesterday.
Mrs Cristina, accompanied by Foundation for Social and Welfare Services (FSWS) CEO Joe Gerada visited Access Complex during an open day activity.
Through Access, the residents of Cottonera and Kalkara can utilise of a number of related services and agencies such as Employment and Training Corporation, the Department for Social Security, Adult Training Centre for Persons with a Disability and the Housing Authority.
“The concept of a one-stop shop makes sense. Through Access, the services go to the people instead of the other way round,” said Mrs Cristina.
One of the most popular services on demand is the Smartkids day centre, said Mr Gerada. Smartkids day-care and family support centre provides quality childcare to children between the ages of three months to three years.
Mrs Cristina also visited the day centre for people with a disability from Cottonera where they are provided with training in a number of skills.
