The Gaia Foundation will be organising a festival of holistic living, GAIAFEST 2006, at the Elysium Visitor Centre in Ghajn Tuffieha from 23 to 25 June.

Various outdoor activities will be organised during the festival. Practical demonstrations, informal discussion and talks will also be held.

The three main themes this year will be the Environment and Renewable Energy, Animal Welfare and Fair Trade and the Arts & Crafts of Tanzania.

Other topics to be discussed will cover diverse themes such as complementary therapies, ecology, philanthropy, nutrition and diet, martial arts, art, poetry readings, and a general respect and love for the diversity of life. There will be workshops on massage, yoga, the benefits of using solar energy and solar water heating, bio-diesel and more.

Musical entertainment will also be provided every night as follows: Friday 23 at 9.30pm, Particle Blue, Dripht at 10.30pm; on Saturday 24 at 9.30pm, Ivan Filletti. On Sunday 25 June, Fakawi will be playing at 9.30pm followed by The Beangrowers at 10.30pm.
