The Civil Protection Department will be organising a campaign to collect several items to be sent to the victims of the earthquake in Indonesia.

The items required are: Blankets, tents, water, foodstuffs (tinned or packed) and medicines (antibiotics)

Collection starts today and ends on Friday. In order to facilitate collection, local councils have been asked to act as collection sites; so far the Zabbar, Ghasri and Gharb local councils have agreed to this request. It is expected that other local councils will follow suit.

Additionally, in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, schools will be asking schoolchildren and students to provide one item as per above which will be collected by Friday.

Moreover, on Saturday, the Scouts Headquarters at Hamrun will be open all day for those who wish to deliver items there.
