The Socjetà Filarmonika Pinto Banda San Sebastjan of Qormi will be commemorating the 144th anniversary of its foundation on Sunday.

As in past years, the society will mark this day in its history by holding a concert performed by the Pinto Brass Band.

The Pinto Brass Band was set up 12 years ago and is structured on the American big band style.

Its repertoire includes various numbers that are particular to this type of band, with music varying from jazz to musicals and other pop music.

Most of the music played by the band has been specifically arranged by the band’s musical director Mro Dominic Darmanin.

This year’s programme will be no exception, as Mro Darmanin and his band have been rehearsing a range of music that will undoubtedly please all those who attend the concert. The music will include Havah Nagilah, Only Hope, Brazil, Help Yourself and much more.

The concert, which will take place in front of the band club’s premises in St Sebastian Street, Qormi, on Sunday, will start at 7.30pm.
