M&E Management Group will be organising the first Valletta Summer Festival at the Valletta Waterfront, on Friday, 7 and Saturday, 8 July.

Speaking at a press conference, M&E Management Group chairman Massimo Ellul said that the festival will be held over two days and will take place on an open-air basis at the Waterfront Promenade.

“The festival aims to entertain the whole family. Various renowned artistes from the UK and Italy and top talent from the Maltese islands will participate. The group will be engaging various animators, children’s minders, balloon modellers and face painters in order to provide adequate entertainment for the children, leaving the adults free to enjoy almost four hours of continuous open air performances in the unique atmosphere of Grand Harbour, during the two days of the festival.”

Mr Ellul explained that the activities offered during the Valletta Summer Festival have been specifically chosen to target a mixed audience, varying from pop music to rock music. The international artistes engaged for the festival include Debbie Nunn “live”, internationally renowned as being the leading Madonna tribute artist. The group has also contracted top London West End tribute bands Rolling Stone and Killer Queen, and internationally acclaimed singer Freddie Hayse.

He said that lovers of Italian music will appreciate the renowned singer Jessica, ex-leader of the popular Italian band Gazosa. And the organisers have not excluded the many football fans who will definitely want to watch the game for the third and fourth place in the World Cup. In fact, a big screen will be erected at the venue so that football fans will not miss this game, while the rest of the family will be entertained by the various artistes on stage.
