BOV Raises interest rates

Malta Independent Sunday, 4 June 2006, 00:00 Last update: about 14 years ago

Following the decision by the Central Bank of Malta on Thursday 25 May to increase the central intervention rate by 0.25 per cent, Bank of Valletta has decided to raise its interest rates on Maltese lira deposits as well as its loan and overdraft accounts.

BOV’s credit and debit interest rates on Maltese lira deposits, as well as its loan and overdraft accounts have been reviewed upwards. Credit interest rates for one year fixed deposits will be increased by 0.5 per cent, while amounts in excess of Lm10,000 for such accounts will attract an increased interest rate of 0.55 per cent.

Interest rates on credit cards will remain unchanged.

This change was effective from last Monday. Further details can be obtained from any BOV branch or from the website www.bov.com.
