Eden Cinema’s ‘Cinemum’

Malta Independent Monday, 12 June 2006, 00:00 Last update: about 13 years ago

Following the great success of its first ever Cinemum morning, Eden Cinemas will be holding its next Cinemum event on Friday, 23 June. By general request, the starting time has been set at 9.30am.

Mothers are invited to watch The Wild, an animated film that is sure to be enjoyed by both grown-ups and toddlers. Mums are invited to overcome their embarrassment should their children scream or cry, for this will be a cinema full of mums with their young babies.

The atmosphere is totally relaxed, enabling mums, and nannas, to socialise over a cup of tea or coffee during the interval.

Before the film, during the intermission and after the show, mothers will have time to mingle, visit the various mother and baby-related stands in the foyer and allow their babies to play in the Smoby Toys play area made available by Mecca.

After the film, Mini Stages will be hosting a free music session for mums and children at the Eden Cinemas.

Baby changers and bottle warmers will be made available, courtesy of Little People of San Gwann. Lights will be partially on in the theatres and the sound will be subdued to make it easier for mothers and babies. Parking will be provided free of charge, and a buggy park will be organised so that mums can keep their pushchairs close by.

Mums pay only Lm2, and babies and children up to the age of four are allowed in free of charge.

All those who are interested can email [email protected] for more details. Reservations can be made as from Friday, 16 June and reserved tickets must be collected by Wednesday, 21 June.
