In support of the on-going EU Climate Change Awareness Campaign organised by the European Commission, Kellogg’s provided a bowl of Kellogg’s Corn Flakes to the primary school children attending the campaign launch at the Valletta Waterfront and at Pembroke School.

Entitled “You Control Climate Change”, the campaign is running in all 25 member countries of the European Union, urging individuals to make small changes to their daily routine in order to achieve significant reductions of greenhouse gas emissions.

More than one hundred school children from various primary schools were present for both activities. The children took part in an animated presentation and discussion on the causes and effects of climate change.

“Kellogg’s, which is committed to promote healthy eating and physical activities in a fun environment, believes in the importance of supporting this major environmental campaign,” said a spokesperson for Kellogg’s in Malta.

The Climate Change campaign is raising awareness on the practical steps the public can take to reduce emissions, recycle and save on energy use. It was launched on the World Environment Day and was also attended by ministers and ambassadors.

The second phase of the Climate Change campaign will be held in early autumn, in which secondary school children will be making a pledge to take practical steps to reduce the carbon dioxide emissions through making small changes in their daily behaviour.
