Good Take up for Italian low cost offer

Malta Independent Sunday, 18 June 2006, 00:00 Last update: about 13 years ago

There has been a good take up of the recently inaugurated low cost flights from Bologna to Malta by Meridiana, Ansa reported last week.

The twice weekly (Thursday, Sunday) connections by an MD82 with 165 seats, with tariffs from e29 each way, have attracted 6,000 bookings in just a few days.

It is hoped, the airline with an HQ in Olbia said, that Maltese tourists will soon discover the airline and land at Marconi airport to visit the Italian art cities, the nearby mountains and the gastronomic centres. A Malta Day will be held in Bologna shortly.
