Ambassador Eric Gerada Azzopardi presented his letters of credence to the president of Iceland, Olafur Ragnar Grimsson on 16 June, as Malta’s non-resident ambassador to Iceland.

Ambassador Gerada Azzopardi discussed various bilateral issues with the deputy permanent secretary of state and with senior officials from the Foreign Affairs Ministry of Iceland.

Ambassador Gerada Azzopardi took also the opportunity to attend Iceland’s National Day celebrations during which he also met the newly appointed foreign affairs minister of Iceland, Mrs Valgeraur Sverrisdottir.

John Buttigieg, first secretary, accompanied Ambassador Gerada Azzopardi to Reykjavik.
