Malta Independent Monday, 3 July 2006, 00:00 Last update: about 12 years ago

Vodafone Malta Ltd is offering all customers the possibility of investing in a future proof 3G phone at a specially reduced price. All customers may purchase a Sharp 770 at Lm119 or a Sharp 550 at Lm99 and get a second one of these phones for half the price. This offer is valid from 5 July onwards while stocks last.

“3G is all about giving customers real products and services that entertain and inform, allowing more effective communication while providing a better way of doing business. 3G will enable excellent voice quality as well as a wide array of compelling data services,” said Vodafone Malta chief executive officer Hatem Dowidar.

“With the launch of 3G services, our customers will be able to experience rich data applications such as high quality picture and video messaging, real-time two-way video calls, music downloads, connection to the office and work as easily as if you were at your desk, mobile internet connectivity, mobile email, and multimedia services, such as digital photos and movies taken by and shared via wireless handsets,” he said.

3G, which stands for third-generation wireless technology and networks, provides rewarding wireless experience including high-quality voice, fun and useful data services whenever you are. With 3G’s advanced data capabilities, businesses can gain critical competitive advantages such as increased productivity, streamlined processes, improved customer service and enhanced communications.

“The new 3G network, which will be available in Malta before the end of the summer, is another huge step forward, providing faster and greater capacity over previous-generation technologies,” Mr Dowidar concluded.

The Sharp 770 and the Sharp 550 are available from the Vodafone Trade Fair stand, Vodafone retail outlets and Vodafone authorised dealers. When purchasing a new mobile, phone customers are encouraged to return their old mobile phones for recycling.
