Assistant Deputy Minister of the Ministry for Tourism and Antiquities of the Palestinian National Authority, Hamdan Taha, thanked and praised Ray Bondin on his work on the protection of the Palestinian cultural heritage.
During the meeting of the Unesco World Heritage Committee in Vilnius, Lithiania, Dr Taha presented Dr Bondin with copies of a Unesco report on the Palestinian heritage and possible future nominations for the Unesco World Heritage List.
Dr Bondin is one of two persons specifically mentioned in the report for this work in the Palestinian territory.
Ray Bondin had chaired a special Unesco seminar on Palestinian heritage in Jericho and had evaluated a proposal for an archaelogical shelter for one of the archaelogical sites in Jericho.
As a result of his work, the proposal was completely changed and new fresh international tenders issued.
