Eden Cinema’s Cinemum – Next event on Friday

Malta Independent Tuesday, 25 July 2006, 00:00 Last update: about 19 years ago

Literally riding on the wave of success, Cinemum continues with its very popular mornings, the next one being scheduled for Friday 28th July, at 10am.

Mums, dads, grandparents and guardians are invited to bring their babies and toddlers along to the cinema and take advantage of an enjoyable occasion to socialise and exchange experiences with parents who, like them, are going through the experience of bringing up young children.

Ever mindful of its customers’ requirements, the Eden Cinemas have opted to show not one but two films at the same time, making two cinema halls available to Cinemum that morning. One option is Ice Age 2, which is ideal for parents whose children are old enough to enjoy watching a cartoon, while those who bring along their newborn babies (who are more likely to sleep throughout) are more likely to choose a more romantic film – The Lake House (starring Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock). Both are rated ‘U’.

As in previous events, nappy changers and bottle warmers will be available, courtesy of Little People of San Gwann.

During the interval, tea and coffee will be offered, courtesy of InterContinental Hotel Malta. Children will be able to play in the Smoby Toys play area, while mums comfortably browse along stands of children-related goods presented by Little People, Pampers and Thinking Living.

During the film shows, lights will be partially on in the theatres and the sound will be subdued to make it easier for mothers and babies. Free parking will be provided and a buggy park will be organised so that mothers can keep their pushchairs close by.

Three mums will be lucky enough to win a free value pack of Active Fit or Easy up nappies from Pampers.

Mothers pay only Lm2, and babies and children up to the age of four are allowed in free of charge.

Those interested in attending can email [email protected] for more details. Reservations can be made immediately on 2371-0400 and reserved tickets must be collected by Wednesday, 26.

The event is sponsored by InterContinental Malta, Little People, Thinking Living, Pampers and Smoby Toys.
