The Malta Transport Authority has said that, further to the recently implemented traffic management scheme in conjunction with road re-construction work being partially funded by the European Union along Civil Aviation Avenue, Luqa, the scheme is being upgraded as follows, until further notice, as from Monday:
Vehicular traffic from Hal Far in the direction of Luqa will be diverted towards the Kirkop tunnels and back in the direction towards Civil Aviation Avenue.
Vehicular traffic coming from Council of Europe Street, Luqa in the direction of the Air Passenger Terminal will be diverted to Gudja Road, Gudja by-pass.
Route bus numbers 32, 35, 34, 138 and 38 from Valletta to destination will be diverted to Council of Europe Street, Luqa, down towards the roundabout junction at Garibaldi Street, Gudja Rd and Gudja by-pass, and roundabout junction at Civil Aviation Avenue from where buses will proceed as per standard practice.
Route number 8 in the direction of Valletta will, after entering the airport, be diverted to Triq il-Karwija and Gudja Terminus.
