Special Broadband internet rates for disabled persons

Malta Independent Friday, 4 August 2006, 00:00 Last update: about 12 years ago

Maltanet reached an agreement with the Foundation for Information Technology Accessibility (FITA) through which disabled persons can benefit from lower prices for their broadband internet service. Through this agreement any person with a severe disability who registered with FITA will benefit from a 4Mbps broadband ADSL service from maltanet at highly favourable rates.

Maltanet manager – marketing and wholesale, Jack Mizzi said, “we are very proud of closing this agreement with FITA. Maltanet fully supports the Foundation’s efforts to provide support to disabled individuals in overcoming or removing barriers to education and employment through ICT, and the provision of broadband internet should help towards reaching this aim.”

Maltanet is the leading provider of broadband and IP services, and a member of the Maltacom Group. FITA is the principal advocate and coordinator for making information communications technology (ICT) accessible for disabled people in the Maltese islands.
