Vodafone Malta Ltd celebrated its 16th anniversary with a party for members of staff and partners at the Bedouin Bar at the Westin Dragonara.
Vodafone began operating in Malta in July 1990. It was the first overseas subsidiary of Vodafone Group plc, the world’s largest mobile community.
Vodafone has long been at the forefront of technical developments in Malta. The company introduced its GSM network in 1997, in 2001 it introduced GPRS and the 3G is scheduled for launch in the coming weeks. With 3G, Vodafone will be able to offer new services to customers such as video calling, full track music download and 3D games. In addition, services and content will be greatly improved through better quality sound, pictures and video. Vodafone Malta has a customer base of over 175,000.
During the anniversary party, chief executive officer Hatem Dowidar presented a token of appreciation for their 10 years of service to four employees.
The anniversary party included great music, food and fun. Entertainment was provided by Ira Losco and Chiara and DJ Carlo Borg Bonaci.
