ICONS is a contemporary showcase of performing arts rooted in Maltese heritage, under the musical and artistic direction of Ruben Zahra, and will take place on Wednesday 16 August at the Old Opera House in Valletta, at 9.00pm.

The production is divided into six tableaux, each portraying a symbol or motive which represents distinct cultural attributes, such as the Neolithic Spirals, Zaqq u Tanbur, The Maltese Cross, Ghonnella, The Maltese Language, and Seascapes. ICONS celebrates these aspects of Maltese culture through contemporary dance, music, theatre and projected images.

Dancers from the Creative Dance Studio, choreographed by Clarissa Borg, who is also once of the dancers, will be performing in ICONS, namely Fae Camilleri, Simone Camilleri, Diane Portelli and Diana Spiteri together with actors Stephen Buhagiar and Beverly Pace and musicians Robert Calleja, Daniel Cauchi, Mario Frendo, Tricia Dawn Williams, and Ruben Zahra.

Tickets are priced at Lm4 and Lm3.
