Crackers: Hello Everything

Malta Independent Thursday, 10 August 2006, 00:00 Last update: about 13 years ago

In this week’s issue we bring you the second part of the article related to ShareMalta – the British-Maltese charity whose aim is to help all animal sanctuaries and to train young people in animal care and environmental awareness. This new charity was founded quite recently but I am sure we will hear more of it in the future.

Did you know that the average person has about 10,000 taste buds and that they are replaced every two weeks? In the article What are taste buds? we bring you an interesting article which explains the functions of our tongue and how it manages to sort out the flavours, sweet, salty, sour or bitter.

Did you know that more than 100 billion crayons have been produced since they were invented? Why do you think that we feel hotter if we wear dark clothes in summer? These and other interesting facts and explanations could be found in the article Amazing Facts. If you have any questions or curiosities of your own which you would like an explanation to we will be happy to try and answer them for you.

We have a number of free cinema tickets for you. All you have to do is answer a simple question and you could be one of our winners.

See you next Thursday

Frances
