BICREF will be holding seminars and field work in Gozo between Saturday and 15 August after the positive feedback from previous BICREF seminars in Malta and specific requests from Gozitans to have such seminars and conservation work in Gozo too.
As part of its ongoing research surveys in Malta and Gozo, BICREF will this August assess both the biodiversity present and the impacts of mass tourism on vulnerable sites. In this effort it will also be joined by foreign volunteers. These volunteers have specifically decided to come to Gozo also to assist BICREF in its field work for conservation monitoring.
BICREF has constantly promoted the need of marine conservation areas for both coastal and offshore marine life to be protected while advocating the need to reduce further developments and exploitation undertaken without conservation monitoring and management.
