Policemen looking for a stolen motorcycle must have had quite a surprise on Saturday when the alleged thief crashed the motorcycle they were tracking down into a parked car in front of their very eyes.

The police had been informed at around 3pm that a Yamaha motorcycle had been reported stolen from Triq it-Trunciera in Qawra. Police started making the search rounds in the general vicinity shortly after.

Just as they were carrying out their search in the Fra Ben area, the alleged thief appeared driving the missing motorcycle and lost control of the bike, which was sent reeling into a Ford Focus parked on the roadside.

The man was taken to hospital, where he was found suffering from serious injuries.
