Melita Cable announced last week that it has acquired the exclusive paybroadcast rights of the UEFA Champions League for the next three seasons. Through this agreement Melita Cable will be in a position to provide its subscribers with live coverage of all 125 games of the most prestigious football event at club level.

With this acquisition Melita continues to consolidate its position as the leader in the provision of sports events on TV, with eight channels dedicated to sports on its digital network.

For the first time, live simulcast of the UEFA Champions League will also be available on Melita’s sports website www.melitasports.com All the games of the UEFA Champions League will be available on a pay-per-view basis on Internet. The pricing of the Internet packages will be revealed closer to the first match day of the UEFA Champions League.

Following the success of last year, Melita will continue to provide viewers with a highlights programme every Tuesday and Wednesday throughout the season. Last years programme has been nominated for the Best Sports Programme in the first edition of the Malta Television Awards.

The first match day of the UEFA Champions League is scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday featuring the top 32 clubs in Europe.
