Camilleri Wines’ Palatino range of wines flowed underneath the newly restored ceiling of the Manoel Theatre during “An Evening Under the Stars”, a high profile event inside the theatre’s auditorium to celebrate the completion of restoration and decoration works on the theatre’s ceiling.

Hosted by the Manoel Theatre Management Committee in collaboration with the Malta International Airport, “An Evening Under the Stars”, was the first major event that set the ball rolling for the new theatrical season. Chairman of the Manoel Theatre Management Committee, Wilfred Kenely, and CEO of Malta International Airport, Peter Bolech, sponsors of the restoration project addressed the guests on the night.

“Camilleri Wines were delighted to associate themselves with this glamorous event that celebrated the beauty and the grandeur of Malta’s National Theatre. Our wines definitely graced this exclusive night under one of Malta’s most beautiful ceilings,” said head of sales and marketing of Camilleri Wines, Claudio Camilleri.

“Associating ourselves with such a prestigious venue on such an outstanding night confirms our passion for exclusivity and our efforts to make of such events, successful and memorable ones both for us and for all the guests of Manoel Theatre,” added Mr Camilleri.

“An Evening Under The Stars” celebrated an important project that saw the restoration of Manoel Theatre’s ceiling back to its original glory, with 24-carat gold gilding and the a return to the original blue hues that give the ceiling a dome effect.

It came as no surprise that all guests were hosted to a grand, dramatic event. Searchlights outside the main entrance set the mood to an eventful night as guests were ushered inside the auditorium of Manoel Theatre.

Following a brief recital by soprano Pauline Longo, accompanied by Ramona Zammit Formosa on harpsichord and Ulrike Bahmann on bassoon, the theatre lights were gradually intensified to reveal the dazzling golden shimmer and the sky blue of the newly restored ceiling.

“Celebrating the grandeur of a Maltese gem like Manoel Theatre with genuine Maltese wines turned out to be a most exquisite combination,” said general manager of the Manoel Theatre, Judie Farrugia.

“We were very excited to have Camilleri Wines on board, as they provided their renowned Palatino range of delicious wines to all our patrons and the event itself proved to be a truly memorable one for all guests that convened at the Manoel to celebrate the newly rediscovered beauty of the theatre’s ceiling.”
