Malta Independent Tuesday, 10 October 2006, 00:00 Last update: about 12 years ago

On the night between Saturday and Sunday Notte Bianca-Lejl Imdawwal will be held in Valletta. This will feature an all night celebration and fusion of artistic, cultural and commercial activities, thus evolving into a great meeting of experiences whilst uniting people. Activities all over Valletta will include art, drama, sculpture, dance film, photography, fashion, interactive shows and displays, visual installations, tours, reenactments, exhibitions, shopping dining and clubbing.

As part of the Notte Bianca celebrations the Embassy Cinemas will be organising the following events:

A special preview of ‘The Departed’, a Martin Scorcese thriller, starring Leonardo Di Caprio, Matt Damon, Jack Nicholson, Mark Wahlberg, Alec Baldwin among others, at Lm2.35 per ticket. There will be a show at 9pm and another at midnight. All other late night shows at a special price of Lm1.75 per ticket.

There will also be two late night shows of The Wartime Experience. The Malta George Cross–The Wartime Experience Show at the Embassy Cinemas is a 45-minute documentary depicting the heroic resistance of Malta’s civilian population during one of the harshest sieges of the Second World War.

It is a combination of still and moving original wartime footage, enhanced with sound and commentary to create a unique archival experience on the big screen. Undoubtedly this show is a wonderful historical bonus for both young and old. Two extra shows will be running between midnight and 2am at a very special price of 50c per ticket. Call the Embassy box office on 21222225 for detailed information.

There will also be later shopping in some outlets at the Embassy Complex.
