Martin Degiorgio, an activist of the Alleanza Nazzjonali Repubblikana, yesterday filed a libel suit against Alternattiva Demokratika chairman Harry Vassallo over an article published in The Times in October.

Mr Degiorgio claimed the article, entitled “Zero tolerance of the intolerant”, contained unfounded allegations which were aimed at tarnishing his reputation. The article was published in The Times on 13 October. He called on the court to order Dr Vassallo to pay him damages in view of libellous and defamatory allegations made about him in the said article.

Dr Michael Tanti-Dougall and Dr Ian Vella Galea signed the writ.
