The Chairman of the Malta Maritime Authority, Dr Marc Bonello and the Board of Members of the same Authority yesterday filed separate libel proceedings against both Dr Anglu Farrugia and Mr Felix Agius, editor of Kullhadd, over the publication of an article entitled, Kultura giddieba u nuqqas ta' trasparenza (“Lying Culture and Lack of Transparency”) in last Sunday's edition of this newspaper regarding the building of the MMA's new offices at the Maritime Trade Centre. Both the Chairman and the Board of Members of the MMA strongly rebut these false allegations, which were solely aimed at tarnishing their reputation and thus consider such article as libellous and defamatory.

The libel proceedings were filed by Dr Franco Vassallo.
