The European Institute of Education (EIE) has recently started a campaign called Knowledge for all and will be donating management textbooks to various local organisations during 2007.

The campaign is aimed at highlighting the importance of continuing professional development for practicing professionals in various fields and for employees of the various institutions who will benefit from these donations.

At a short ceremony on 28 December, textbooks were donated by EIE director of courses Antonello Cappitta to Malta Union of Teachers (MUT) president John Bencini. The textbooks refer to the subject of the management functions within the educational and school environment and are widely used by post-graduate students on the MSc Educational Leadership programme.

Mr Cappitta said: “Being the foremost educational provider in Malta, EIE wants to promote the Knowledge for all campaign, which will help to develop collaborative relations with various organisations and provide continuing professional educational tools for their end users. The intention of this donation to MUT’s library is to enhance our collaboration with this esteemed organisation and to support its members, some of whom are also studying for a master’s degree in Educational Leadership with us.”

Mr Bencini said: “While it is highly appreciated that private educational institutions such as the EIE are continuously striving to offer the best service to enhance the intellectual skills of Maltese citizens, this type of donation will continue to increase the number of books at the MUT library that is frequently used by B.Ed students and also by those already in the teaching profession.”
