When Dejjem Tieghek Becky returns to TV screens this evening after the three-week Christmas break, it will have veteran actor Joe Izzo making his screen comeback and popular TV presenter Julie Zahra on its cast list.
They join Lino Mintoff, Josephine Zammit Cordina, Natalie and George Micallef, Christine Haber, J Anvil, Hooligan, Mirelle Bonello, Pierre Cordina, Michael Sciortino, Marbeck Spiteri, John Dimech and Eileen Montesin.
The series now goes into a straight 35-week run until June.
This year’s storyline is all about the goings-on in a family with two sons who are very much involved in the local fireworks factory.
A secondary storyline is being developed about a teacher who is transferred to a school where the students are not really interested in learning, only in themselves.
This year’s current show, the eight in the series, was originally called Undercover.
Over the past years, the series started to reflect the way the Maltese live their lives. Through its portrayal of what goes on in typical Maltese families, it also passes positive messages to help people and Maltese society move on to better times.
The latest survey by Media Warehouse has shown that Dejjem Tieghek Becky is once again is the most popular weekend TV programme and the most popular drama series.
