Twenty students studying art at advanced level are holding an art exhibition, Bliet u Rhula Maltin, at the Malta Society of Arts, Manufacture and Commerce, Palazzo De La Salle, 219 Republic Street, Valletta.
The students are under the tutorship of Matthew Cassar of Rabat and were encouraged to research and portray the character of their town or village.
It is the third consecutive year that this group of student artists are presenting their works at the same venue. The previous exhibitions were titled Tribes and Cultures respectively.
For this year’s exhibition the mayors of each town and village represented are being invited to attend on the opening evening, when each one of them will be presented with an artwork portraying a particular feature of their town or village. Dr Francis Zammit Dimech, Minister for Tourism and Culture will be inaugurating the exhibition, which will be open to the public on weekdays between 6 and 16 March from 9am to 1pm and 4:30 to 7pm, and on Saturdays from 9:30 to 11:30am.
Entrance is free of charge.
