Court: Briton Charged with threatening a woman with knife

A 40-year-old Briton was granted bail yesterday after he pleaded not guilty to slightly injuring a woman and threatening her with a knife. Gafur Abdul Sahid, residing in St Paul’s Bay, was accused of assaulting and slightly injuring Nicola Jane Camilleri early yesterday morning at around 3.30am in St Paul’s Bay.

He was also accused of threatening Ms Camilleri by putting a knife against her neck.

Before magistrate Silvio Meli, Mr Abdul Sahid pleaded not guilty to possession of the knife without a police licence.

Magistrate Meli granted Mr Adbul Sahid bail against a personal guarantee of Lm1,000.

Police inspector Paul Bond prosecuted.
