The opening ceremony marking the opening of National Youth Day and a week of activities, will be held at Bay Street on Sunday. The event is being held with the collaboration of the Education, Youth and Employment Ministry – Youth Section, the National Youth Council (KNZ), the National Youth Information Centre (NYIC) and the Commissioner for Children. These have once again teamed up to organise the main activities for this special annual event.
The events which will be held at Bay Street on Sunday between 2pm and 7.30pm, will include singing, acting and dance performances, discussions, creative work spaces and information stands. The events centre on the European Union’s campaign for diversity, human rights and participation, known as the “All Different, All Equal” campaign.
The National Youth Day is celebrated annually on 21 March and the Bay Street location was chosen specifically because of its appeal to young people from different sectors of life.
The week’s activities will come to an end with a closing ceremony on Saturday 24 March at the National Curriculum Centre, Hamrun from 10am to noon.
