Malta Independent Friday, 16 March 2007, 00:00 Last update: about 14 years ago

AEGEE-Valletta, the local antenna of AEGEE-Europe and host of the coming General Network Meeting (the AGORA), to be held at the end of April, has confirmed Air Malta, the national airline, as the official carrier of the event. Thanks to this agreement, all participants will be receiving a special offer on their air ticket to travel to Malta from any European city. AEGEE is active in over 260 academic cities, spanning over 40 European countries.

“AEGEE-Valletta highly appreciates the support shown to us by our national carrier,” commented Marco Debono, marketing and PR coordinator for the AGORA-Valletta event. “The agreement will positively promote Air Malta and its services through the 17,000 AEGEE members around Europe, considering that the AGORA is a statutory meeting, and the entire network will be aware of this event, directly or indirectly through their local antennae,” added Mr Debono.

The agreement was signed by Brian Bartolo, Air Malta’s general manager marketing and product, and in the presence of Noel Gravino, Air Malta’s section head conference and incentive travel.

“Air Malta has always been a supporting partner of AEGEE, throughout the past 10 years. This event is a remarkable one for a university student organisation. Our admiration goes to the AEGEE-Valletta organising committee for their hardworking spirit,” said Mr Bartolo.

Air Malta operates from major European gateways with 46 scheduled destinations. For more information about Air Malta services, visit: www.airmalta.com.
