A 33-year-old man has been jailed for 30 months and fined Lm600, after he was found guilty of trafficking and possessing heroin.
Sean Paul Mckeown, from Zurrieq, was charged with trafficking in and being in possession of the drug on and before October last year.
Handing down his
judgement, magistrate Lawrence Quintano took into consideration that this was not Mckeown’s first case involving drugs.
The court made it clear that, no matter what one’s situation may be, selling drugs to finance one’s own habit is never excusable at law.
Police inspector Nezren Grixti prosecuted.
