A 22-year-old from Valletta was placed under house arrest yesterday after he was charged with stealing a number of items from a bar.

Diego Grixti was charged with stealing items from The Stables Bar in Valletta and with damaging the property, to the detriment of Jason Azzopardi.

He was placed under house arrest against a personal guarantee of Lm1,000.

Magistrate Joseph Apap Bologna presided over the court. Police inspectors Silvio Valletta and Pierre Micallef Grimaud prosecuted, and Dr Jose Herrera and Dr Franco Debono appeared for the accused.
