A man was denied bail yesterday after he pleaded not guilty to stealing a stereo from a car in Marsascala and with relapsing.

Before magistrate Joseph Apap Bologna, Antoine Sciberras, 27, from Zabbar, was charged with committing the theft on Saturday afternoon.

He was further charged with committing an offence within the operative period of a suspended sentence handed down by a magistrates’ court on 18 May 2005.

Police inspector Anthony Cassar prosecuted and Dr Ian Farrugia appeared for the accused.
