Brothers Charged with threatening and insulting police officers

Two brothers from Zebbug pleaded not guilty

yesterday to threatening and insulting two police officers.

Appearing before magistrate Jacqueline Padovani, Philip and Raymond Damato, aged 40 and 45 respectively, were charged with committing the offence on Thursday.

They were also charged with breaching the peace, using indecent language and relapsing.

Raymond Damato alone was further charged with disposing of rubbish in a public place and driving two unlicensed vehicles.

The brothers were granted bail against a personal guarantee of Lm1,000 each.

Police inspector Jesmond J. Borg prosecuted and Dr Giannella Caruana Curran appeared for the accused.
