The Heinz Schwarzkopf Foundation Young Europe is inviting participation in the “Young European of the Year” competition being held under the auspices of the European Parliament.

Youths between 18 and 28 years of age, who have worked in an honorary capacity towards understanding between peoples and/or towards European integration with a measure of success, or young people who have learned to act with initiative, personal commitment and a sense of responsibility, showing they are ready to grasp opportunities in forging peaceful coexistence in Europe, can be candidates for this prize.

Each year, the Heinz Schwarzkopf Foundation Young Europe rewards a young European for his/her outstanding commitment to fostering international understanding and the union of Europe, while encouraging and motivating him/her to continue championing these ideals.

The winner of the prize receives e5,000, which is intended to finance a six-month practical traineeship with a member of the European Parliament or another European institution.

It is also possible to use the sum to finance a project which promotes European integration that will further the aims of the foundation.
