The director of a car dealership was fined Lm200 after he admitted misappropriation and forging public documents.

Anthony Vassallo, 59, from Rabat pleaded guilty before magistrate Consuelo Scerri Herrera to misappropriating an amount over Lm1,000 to the detriment of Stephen Xuereb.

However, prosecuting inspector Ian Joseph Abdilla told the court that Vassallo had returned the full amount to Mr Xuereb.

Vassallo also pleaded guilty to the charges of defrauding Mr Xuereb, forging and using public documents and making false declarations.

Following Vassallo’s guilty plea, magistrate Scerri Herrera fined him Lm200.

Police inspector Ian Joseph Abdilla prosecuted and Dr Chris Cilia appeared for Vassallo.
