Last Wednesday saw the inauguration of two five-a-side synthetic pitches. Depiro Sports and Leisure at Mtarfa are well-known for their glorious basketball history in the past two decades. They have also made a name for themselves with their highly-rated summer school that includes a variety of activities besides sports.
The new synthetic turf facility will now give a boost to the Depiro Saturday sports programme during winter as well as to the club’s soccer school. The facility will also be used for fitness classes led by qualified personal trainer Mark Abela, and rugby training led by the youth development officer of the MRFU Sam Ramage.
At present a number of U12 boys are benefiting from morning soccer sessions led by Chucks Nwoko. The facility is also available to the general public and bookings can be made on mob.: 7979-0505.
