Visions, a Young Enterprise company, is participating in the 18th Junior Achievement – Young Enterprise Europe Company of the Year Competition, which today in Berlin. The winner of the 19th HSBC Young Enterprise Malta Company Programme, Visions, has joined the national winners from 29 other European countries competing for the title of European Student Company of the year 2007.

Under the guidance of their teachers and business volunteers, 11 students from De La Salle College aged 16-17 have been running a mini-company over the past nine months as part of their post-secondary education, developing, producing and selling the K-9 Cleaning Kit.

This is a pouch, which is attached to the dog’s leash and includes all that one needs to clean up after the dog. Visions also invested in a secondary service, Partner Solutions, a freelance support service for business organisations that lack sales personnel during specific events such as product launches, trade fairs and so on.

Visions are accompanied by Junior Achievement (Young Enterprise) Malta vice chairman Dr Karl Briffa, chief executive officer Karl Gouder and Vision’s business adviser Matthew Borg.

“This event allows our students to interact with their peers from all over Europe, thus providing an international dimension to our enterprise programme,” said Mr Gouder. “The competition brings together the very best from all over Europe, with some countries having to select their representative from thousands of mini-companies. Nevertheless Malta has always performed well in this competition clinching the European title four times in the past 17 editions.”
