The Alfred Mizzi Foundation donated three Dell computers to the Paulo Frere Institute in Zejtun.
On the occasion of the presentation of these computers, the director of the institute, Fr Edgar Busuttil, thanked the foundation and explained that these computers will go a long way to equip their computer lab.
They will not only help in the computer awareness courses for children and adults but will also be a useful tool for motivating participants of their literacy courses, stimulating them to learn more and to discover the world open to them through special software.
The Paulo Freire Institute was set up by the Maltese Jesuits in 2001 to promote literacy in Maltese and English.
The institute also provides courses for women together with facilities for unemployed people. The institute also tries to promote community development among those who attend the courses and aims at empowering people and promoting their self-confidence and talents.
