A 55-year-old man was yesterday fined Lm500 after admitting to employing a Filipino national illegally.

Gaetano Vella Bonnici, from Zabbar, pleaded guilty to employing a person illegally at an establishment in the Marsa Sports Club on 31 August and before. He also pleaded guilty to not supplying the Employment and Training Corporation with details of an employee.

The court, presided over by magistrate Giovanni Grixti fined him Lm500. Police inspector Mario Haber prosecuted.
