A man from Fgura yesterday appeared in court on charges of having stolen heavy duty cables from a factory in Bulebel on no less than four occasions, with the stolen items being worth more than Lm1,000 each.

Paul Camilleri, 29, pleaded guilty to breaking into S.M. Cables on four occasions dated 14, 26, 28 August and 1 September, making off with over Lm4,000 worth of cabling. He also admitted to breaking and entering, causing over Lm50 in damages.

The court, presided over by magistrate Jaqueline Padovani put the case off for judgment for one month in an effort to allow the accused the benefit of attempting to trace the stolen items and return them to the owners.

Police inspectors Daniel Zammit and Carmelo Magri prosecuted while Dr Patrick Valentino appeared for the accused.
