The court fined a party organiser Lm500 after he was found guilty of cannabis possession at a party he himself had organised.
Steven Satariano, 34, from Sliema was found guilty of the charges of possession of cannabis resin and breaching conditions of a previous release on 27 June 1999.
The court, presided over by magistrate Lawrence Quintano, heard how the drugs had been found after Satariano had been searched by the members of the drug squad while he was going to a party that he himself had organised.
In his testimony, Satariano explained that one of the foreign DJs had asked him for a piece of cannabis resin.
Satariano also told the court that he had organised the party and had also requested members of the drug squad to search people attending the party.
Magistrate Quintano found Satariano guilty and fined him Lm500 to be paid off in monthly instalments of Lm50.
Police superintendent Neil Harrison prosecuted.
