Luca Madonia is perhaps a new name to our musical ears, but a seasoned one in the Italian peninsula. Luca Madonia is in fact the next Italian artist who will be visiting the Saturday night chat show Bla Agenda and interpret one of the songs that have built his successful career.
Born in Catania, Luca Madonia is one of the most interesting musical artists of the Sicilian music scene. A scene which has brought to the footlights an interesting array of musicians, songwriters and bands of every music type.
Among the first bands from Catania to be noticed in the rest of Italy, was the band Denovo, a quartet devoted to a sophisticated and winning pop. Luca and his brother Gabriele were the founders of Denovo while Mario Venuti and Tony Carbone joined the band later on.
In the last three decades, Luca Madonia has produced several albums, and has been around the Italian music scene ever since, working his way to the top of the parades and earning himself the title of “Gentleman del rock”.
Along the years, his artistic experience and capabilities have also been requested by other Italian music stars, both as a lyricist and as a singer. Among others, he has penned the lyrics of E’ solo amore for Andrea Mirò, Baby blue for Patty Pravo, and Tu sei diversa for Gianni Morandi.
Luca also collaborated vocally on a number of albums such as Astratti fuori of Kaballà, in Mai come ieri with Mario Venuti, in 2002 with Grazia De Michele in Naturale, and in his own most recent album Vulnerabile, with Franco Battiato in Quello che non so di te.
