Three Boys and a man charged with injuring each other

Three brothers, two of which are minors, yesterday pleaded not guilty to grievously injuring a man on 26 October 2007. In turn, they were charged with similar charges.

Before magistrate Giovanni Grixti, the three were also charged with injuring the same man, Stephen Galea, as well as Jamma Smaini Galea, both from Sliema and Peter George Borg, from Luqa.

They were also charged with causing less than Lm500 in damage to a bar at the detriment of Isabelle Holden and Michael Beintner, breaching the peace and using obscene words in public.

In turn, Stephen Galea, was charged, before the same magistrate, with slightly injuring two brothers, who are minors, and grievously injuring their 19-year-old brother. He was also accused of causing less than Lm500 in damage to the same bar as well as breaching the peace and using obscene words in public.

They were each granted bail against a Lm1,000 personal guarantee.

Superintendent Nicholas Ciappara led the prosecution while Dr Anglu Farrugia appeared for the brothers and Dr Jose Herrera appeared for Mr Galea.
