Jonie Falcone, the young 21-year-old Italo-Argentine singer and dancer who was recently a guest on Norman Hamilton’s talk show Bla Agenda as well as during the Malta International TV Song Festival on One TV, was awarded the Premio Personalitá Europea 2007 at the Campidoglio in Rome on 11 December. This event, which was held on Europe’s Day, is patronised by the Municipality and the Province of Rome.

Other personalities awarded this prize during the same ceremony were Giancarlo Nannini, Maria Grazia Cucinotta, Vincenzo Salemme, Catherine Spaak, Toto Cutugno, Bianca Guaccero, Sebastiano Somma and journalist Adele Ammendola.

Jonie Falcone emerged on the pop music scene all over Europe last summer with her very catchy and danceable number Hasta El Sol. Her new CD album will be released in February 2008.

Ms Falcone received her award for her success as the young European revelation of the year.
