before the age of 18 and since most of these youths cannot depend on family for support, even though in the eyes of the law they are still underage, they have to leave and fend for themselves. The project is a result of cooperation between different groups of young people to help these youths move smoothly out of institutional care, integrate into society and attempt to address the gap that exists in the system.

Rotaract is therefore aiming to renovate four rooms to be used by senior boys as a semi-independent unit in connection with the ‘launch pad’ project. This swimming marathon will help raise some of the funds needed to complete renovation and full furnishing of these 4 rooms which is estimated to cost around €10,000.

The event will take place on Saturday 16 February in the spa area of the Living Well Health Club Hilton, Malta, between 7am and 7pm. Participants will swim for 30 minutes.
