A St Julian’s man was remanded in custody after he was charged with several counts of theft of jewellery and electronic equipment.
Victor Stellini, 30, pleaded not guilty, before presiding Magistrate Michael Mallia, to stealing jewellery and other objects worth over e2,330/Lm1,000 on 9 January to the detriment of Lucia Fenech.
He was also charged with stealing cash, a computer monitor and jewellery worth over e2,330 /Lm1,000 on 19 January to the detriment of Vincent Miceli.
Mr Stellini also pleaded not guilty to stealing antique silverware, and electronic equipment worth over e2,560/Lm1,100 from another three houses in Sliema.
He also pleaded not guilty to relapsing.
Magistrate Mallia heard how Mr Stellini has a serious drug problem.
The accused was remanded in custody.
Police Inspector Silvio Valletta and Inspector Joseph Mercieca prosecuted while Dr Martin Fenech appeared for Mr Stellini.
