Cynthia Ehrlich recently joined the Embassy of the United States in Malta as the Public Affairs Officer. Ms Ehrlich is responsible for press, exchange programs, public outreach, and cultural activities for the Embassy. She will be in Malta for approximately three years.
Ms Ehrlich most recently served as the Public Diplomacy Officer of the Department of State’s Provincial Reconstruction Team in Diyala, Iraq.
Ms Ehrlich began her career in the foreign service in 1998 with the US Agency for International Development, first serving in its Regional Caucasus Mission in Tbilisi, Georgia, and then in Kyiv, Ukraine. In 2001, Ms Ehrlich joined the Department of State.
Overseas, she has served at the US embassy in Bamako, Mali, and the US consulate in Frankfurt am Main, Germany. Ms Ehrlich was also an instructor at the National Foreign Affairs Training Center in Arlington, Virginia, from 2003 to 2005.
Ms Ehrlich is from Fair Oaks, California, and an alumna of the School of Business at the University of Maryland, College Park. Ms Ehrlich speaks French, Spanish, and Russian.
